Synthesis of Superheavy Nuclei in the Reactions of 48Ca and 248Cm


Dr. V. K. Utyonkov is a nuclear physicist working in the Flerov Laboratory of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia. Dr. Utyonkov is the co-discoverer of elements 114 and 116. In this talk before the American Chemical Society in San Diego, California, on April 1, 2001, Dr. Utyonkov describes the recent exciting research on the heaviest elements at Dubna.
