Dr. David J. Hinde is a Senior Fellow in Nuclear Physics in the Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering at the Australia National University in Canberra. Dr. Hinde is a member of the nuclear reaction dynamics group. He is famed for his careful studies of fusion and fission dynamics. He has made observations of the neutrons emitted in fission reactions. This talk was delivered at a meeting of the American Chemical Society in San Diego, California, on April 1, 2001.
